Free book downloads

Options
Probable some-one has already posted this, but just in case.... the following site provides completely free book downloads:

www.gutenberg.org

There is no catch, nothing, zilch, not one - the only thing that is suggested is that you can a) give a donation to this very worthy cause if you wish, and/or b) upload to the site if you're clever, which I'm not.

Take a look.

Not only are the ebooks free, they are Public Domain works which means you can sell them as your own and keep all the profits. Public domain means these ebooks have no copyright anymore.
    Don't worry, be happy!

Hardly in the spirit of the idea, and I really am not sure that this is strictly true....

I don't think that's correct, you can't sell 'Macbeth' or 'Pride and Prejudice' as your own work!

razby - that is not what this site is about. This is a 'money saving' site which means 'being able to experience things or have things' which you can not normally afford - it is not a site to abuse for making profit out of.

Thanks for posting Barbara - this is a really great post!! & there will be people who see it here who have not come across it before.

Thanks for thinking of us all!

Is also a great site for public domain texts.
