Maybelline dream satin liquid

I recently bought this product and loved it so much I have to share the news. I have been recently using Elemental mineral make up which was ok but rather drying and a bit flat so fancied a change, this stuff gives coverage, looks dewy not greasy and best of all lasts all day on my combo/oily skin, something only EL Doublewear has been able to do in the past but at less than half the price Maybelline is my new best friend:D Strangely enough it works just as beautifully on my daughters young teenage skin as well:T

If you go on the freebies no spend required forum there is a chance to get a sample of it for free. I'm hoping I get a sample so I can test it out (they don't sell it in my town so would have to make extra effort to get it)!

Bet they'll send me a sample of the average shade though - always looks like I've been tangoed! :rotfl:But it's good to hear someones views who's bought it as I have the same skin type and it can be hard to get good foundation with coverage.

Oooh, I wonder how the Light Porcelain shade compares to Estee Lauder Double Wear's "Shell"? It's such a pain having such fair pinky skin!

Hi Bargain Rzl, I wear Sand in EL, I do have pinky/white/bluey (sounds lovely:rotfl:)skin but I like to add yellow tones rather than match with my colouring as I just end up looking over pink, this was a trick taught to me many years ago when I worked for Shiseido, I believe MAC also suggest this as well, I also wear lots of fake tan so I need everything to blend.

I bought the shade Ivory 101, its perfect for me but also perfect on my daughter who has very light olive skin, I can only think this must be because although it is quite pigmented (it covers two thread veins I have) the product itself is quite light to the touch.

Hi ~*Plushroom*~ Thank you, I have already applied for the samples, I'm a regular on the comps board and often have a glance at freebies:T Oily skin is a pain when it comes to make up, I have to say being the make up tart that I am I'm going through a phase of liking shine, not grease, but quite a high glow if you like your skin matt, this isn't a product for you, I haven't tried it but I feel if you put powder over it it would cake or blotch in no time - let me know what you think when you get to try some:)

  • I'm a huge EL fan so am really tempted to try this Maybelline if it is as good. Normally tend to stay away from the cheaper brand because they normally go patchy but with these recommendations I wil be trying a sample! Thanks :)

    Hi glowgirl!
Oily skin is useless sometimes when it comes to make-up, but I remember hearing something about those with oily skin getting less wrinkles so it isn't all bad :D I had to go pick up my new specs today so I popped into boots to try the foundation out - for once there was a tester out! The ivory one was actually perfect, usually foundation is too orange for me (With a nickname like casper it's hardly a shock!) and I thought it was really good, coverage was heavy enough to hide most imperfections without the scary mask-effect and it minimised the pores on my nose.

As it's on offer at the moment for £5.72 (Something around that price) in Boots I'm going to pop back and get some when I'm in stevenage next week - even with the price of bus far there it works out cheaper than the pricey foundations I've been using.

I'm not one for a completely matt look as I find it doesn't suit my skin in certain weathers so this stuff seems perfect.

I did end up testing out a 65p foundation from Savers the other day. You know it was great, pale, good coverage, moisturising. The only problem was it smelt of non-toxic school poster paint - and the smell didn't fade! :rotfl:Not one of my best purchases but still, can always use it to cover exzcema scars on my legs for the summer!

Hi ~*Plushroom*~, so glad you like it, I forgot to say in my original post that I wear a primer as well, my absolute fav is EL (yes, again should be on commission:D) Spotlight, it works really well with the maybelline, I am nearly finished my tube and in the interest of cash flow and boredom (make up tart strikes again;)) I am going to try a product by me me me called beat the blues as an alternative, has anyone tried this? I shall report back when I do:)

Got a bottle of this today at Boots for £5.82 as it's currently on offer with £2 off the full price. Love it so much already! They actually do a shade lighter than ivory so I have my perfect shade!
