I've just e-mailed them so waiting for them to get back to me, so far the bugs have died down greatly since I covered all offending areas in a pest killer powder - of course that will only work as a stopgap solution as the next batch of eggs will hatch and I'll be bitten again!
On the up side this hell has pushed me to replace my old bedframe (It's an old on that is covered in material, so not good) and I have one sitting in the shed thanks to a lovely freecycler. Just got to wait until the council get back to me and keep vacuuming them up, seems to help a bit.The "Bloodlust" Clique - Morally equal to all. Steam cleaning the carpets helps. You can also use a steam wall paer stripper.Who I am is not important. What I do is.0

Hi everyone
I too have had major problems with bed bugs in our student house. I resorted to trying to vacuum the little things up every day but to no avail!! We were all just covered and bites.
Eventually we tried looking for ways to get rid of them on the Internet - none of the products we tried from stores worked. I can't share the link as I'm a new member but there is a site (search Hygiene Supplies Direct) that has a "bed bug kill" kit which we found worked so well that we got rid of the problem completely. There's also a "fumer" which I have heard are very effective at stinking the things out!!
Good luck with your bed bugs everyone!0 -
I used to work for a Housing Asssociation which dealt in accomodating locum doctors and medical staff from overseas...and bedbugs were a perennial problem as most of out tenants moved round alot and stayed in a variety of accomodation so they were susceptable to having the suitcases and possessions infiltrated by bed bugs which then infested our accomodation.....
The strategy we used was to remove all soft furnishings, mattresses, sofa and etc and dispose of them by burning. And then get the accommodation and the tenants clothes & possessions throughly fumigated by a pest control company - it kills the bed bugs and also had some residual action as once treated, the house was bug-free for a long time. The pest removal men had to wear masks and overalls as the stuff they used was very toxic so if you plan to D-I-Y ...please be very careful
You need to check discretely with your neighbours as if they get into partition walls or loft spaces, they will spread. In houses of multiple occupations, they spread like wildfire if they aren't checked!!
Always be careful when you buy 2nd hand / antique furniture - they can lay eggs in the cracks between joints and then merrily hatch out when you place the nice 'antique' sideboard in your home...and then the fun starts!:heartpuls The best things in life aren't things :heartpuls
