i can understand an adult would need a passport or a photo licence... but an 8 year old should surely be able to board a flight based on the id of their parent.... or even a birth certificate...
I'm just glad i made the call..... Big G can pay for it... i'm paying for everything else...
i've got time i suppose...I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -

Bea doesn't even have a passport, not going to bother until I know she needs to fly somewhere!I'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway ....

It is ridiculous to expect a child under 11 years old to have a passport - what purpose does it serve?26.2.19/14.1.19: T MC 3629.26/3629.26 : VM 0% 1050/13876.59 : W 0% 100/1485 = 4409.26/18990.85 =25.17%28.1.19/28.1.19 Hubs 0% £400/£2,977 =13.44%SPC 2019 #073

I have to get a new one for Freya for next year for our Florida trip.
I guess it helps stop 'estranged' parents taking kids off without permission etc?Empty pockets never held anyone back, only empty heads and empty hearts can do that -Peale0 -

That is annoying! Can understand why they need photo ID but can't see why it needs to be in date to fly in the UK. Good thing you found out though!Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
