Mini Babybel Light Cheese

Farmfoods are selling Mini Babybel Light Cheese (12 in pack) for £1 (or 85p, for those of you who get staff discount).

Nutritional information here:

For those of you who watched the programme on TV the other day about high protein dairy foods and increased excretion of fat from the diet, then Bob's your uncle if you need to get into shape for the summer (along with walks along the beach now that we've got the yellow disk in the sky). Brilliant with the WW biscuits I noted on the Poundland thread. Could even take you picnic blanket along with you - lol.

HTH someone.

Normally retail about £2.28 or so.

Heron foods seem to be the English equivalent to Farmfoods. I'd easy have the both of them - more bargains to boot.

What I'm really envious of is Homebargains - sounds like we miss quite a lot of brilliant bargains through not having these stores. More's the pity.

I remember quite a few bargain stores, such as Kwik Save and the likes when we used to visit our relies in Fleetwood. Oh, and the Fleetwood market - loved it. Oh for nostalgia. One of my favourite relies - from Hull. Do they just cut them from a different cloth. This man was one of the most funniest and kindest person I've ever had the opportunity to meet - the best. Anyhoos, I digress. Still have a love of that accent, though - very calming.

Went into FarmFoods with the intention of stocking up with a few packs of these but they were all "use by 18 June" so just got the one.

Mine had about a month on them, but this is often better than Asda has.

Promos usually have less of a date on them.

Just checked the ones I already had in the fridge from when Tesco had the smaller pack on BOGOF. They are dated for October 2009.

Tesco are normally spot on with dates.

Asda, on the other hand, are not so good with advanced dates.

Farmfoods - if promo - usually less of a date, but still good all the same.

  • Having re-read what I originally wrote, I did say 'usually' and did not state always.

There will obviously be a few exceptions (and Tesco generally are), but on the whole, promos tend to verge on having a lesser date, but this does depend on where you shop.

Thus, the rule should be to shop around and to always, always check the date.

Promos do need to be assessed on an individual basis.
