  • I thought they only searched Experian, so did other people who work for them!

I haver never known us to use call credit... in all the legal bumf that we read to customers states that " we may contact credit reference and fraud prevension agencies to help make decisions about providing our services on credit" and below it says in bold - if customer requires information on cr/fp agencies please visit the ltsb intranet site or call pld - i checked on the site and it states that we only use Falcon for fraud prevension and experien and equifax. Unless one of those providers searches other agencies for them but we only tell customers that we use the above.

just out of interest - that method did u use to apply for your card.

  • Thanks Chris,

I applied online after logging into my internet banking page, so the application already contained alot of my details.

  • Might it be worth taking my experian file down to a branch still? They did do an Experian search on me too though, so they should already have this info.

I suspect its the default on my Call Credit file from Cahoot, it should have dropped off now as over six years old but has an incorrect default date 31/12/03 instead of 28/05/03 - there is a note on that particular entry to say this though.

Experian is totally clean, as it is correct, and gives me a 953 score as no defaults or late payments in 6 years. If they'd only checked this then I'd be ok, instead I feel that I was rejected by incorrect data held by Call Credit. If I thought they would have checked there whilst the default was disputed I would never have bothered applying!
  • I checked Martin's chart:

Looks like he is aware that lloyds use CC :(

I shall never doubt him again.

Wonder if there is any further updates/developments on this issue.
  • Tried applying again after the final default was removed, rejected again.

Got a Sainsburys and Virgin CC in the meantime though, both with £6k limits.

Perhaps your latest rejection was due to re-applying within 6 months?
I assume if all extrernal files are clear and they do a search, you are likely to be accepted?
Sorry i am asking questions though it seems like statements as i am very unsure just like you.
Also, did the full external credit check have any impact on the internal msg marker by Lloyds 'credit bureau data or decline'
i..e does the bank system still reflect this code?
  • I didn't see my internal Lloyds score, they did another full credit search on me though. They said I could reapply whenever I wanted, if my circumstances changed, and as my default was removed I thought I would give it a shot.

I cant think of a reason for Lloyds rejecting me, looks like I will have to move banks if I want an overdraft facility.
