Lamb steaks and beans..

Lamb steaks...what beans would you have with them? I love butter beans, lentils, red kidney, borlotti beans, all of them actually.
I'm thinking of having the lamb with some tzatziki dressing.

Oh flageolet sounds great for summer and with the tzatziki. I'm shopping tomorrow so I'll pick some up. Thanks!

erm, yes......but I was asking for other people's opinions about what beans go nicely with lamb..in the winter I always do butter beans with a lamb casserole but I was just looking for some new suggestions. Perhaps I failed to make that clear...

My absolute favourite is runner beans, with new potatoes and maybe a little side salad... a very easy meal, but lovely.

I guess not that useful for you, because runner beans aren't in season.

  • Any of 'em... any kind of legume is delicious with lamb, whilst peas etc are lovely, tinned pulses are equally as good - mashed is good as well, esp with some thyme/lamb juices mixed in ! or some kind of bean salad.

Thanks TomTerm I do love runner beans too but a few more weeks to wait yet!
Thanks kittyscarlett - youre reply is helpful. I always tend to get a bit stuck in a rut with food and am not very good at choosing what goes well with what. I've always got some type of legumes in the cupboard so I'll be a more adventurous with lamb in future!
