Well the OR rang me today after 26 hours not within the 24 stated :rotfl:
Anyhow asked if i had a mortgage and who with and was it up to date etc.
Asked about cars i have which i told him was on HP and being sent back.
Told him about my Van which is for work and said its worth about 2k gave him the reg etc and told him it was still on HP with about 10 payments to go.He said he would write to them and tell them he has not intrest in it and it would be up to them if they let me carry on paying for it or take it back
Told him i had applied for a co-op account and he said he had not intrest in it but not to use any other account i have except the Halifax which he said he would write and tell them he had no intrest as its only got £6 in it.
Told me i was to start a new set of books for buisness as from today as if i was starting from scratch, and asked me if i had any work part completed or money outstanding to me at the moment which i said no.
Not the strange part
I said i had started a new job today which is about 4 weeks work and he wants the name and address of the company i am sub contracting to so he can write and inform them i have gone bankrupt
Whats that got to do with them.
He also said i was to inform builders etc who i start doing work for that i am bankrupt until i am distcharged ????
Told me to tell any creditors or bailffs i am bankrupt and to !!!! off and to phone him direct if they give me any problems.
Another proper phone interview on the 9th June 9am

seems to have went ok,and good news about the car, well done:beer: did the OR really say f-off or is that your wording?
the OR is telling the people your working for because any credit over £500 you need to tell the lender about your BR so I'm guessing that the OR may be treating you as a contractor the same way, they could be committing alot of money to a job your doing for them so I'm just guessing thats the reason?0 -
The people i do work for are not giving me credit i will be giving them credit doing the work before i get paid ?
Well i am dammed sure i will not be turning up at peoples houses to do work and informing them i am a bankrupt :mad:Bankrupt 1st June 2009

sorry I didn't say what I ment very well,if you were to go BR again then that could put them at risk in some way?I'm just guessing that could be the reason why the OR informs them0 -
Do you have to inform anyone you do work for , you are BR?
I mean this as a self employed person. If so would this not jeopardise the contract or whatever for that job. If I start up again as self employed , say as a taxi driver will I have to tell the owner of the taxi company I am BR even though I am SE?......... and have no need for credit above £500 if any credit at all.
If this is the case then surely the SE BR is is at a great disadvantage when they are only trying to recover and better themselves. After all we have committed no crime, have we?Better to be poor than a slave to wealth

Hmm, I was under the impression that you only have to tell people with whom you already have a contract. So the job you started yesterday was arranged before BR and they would have to be told.
However, I didn't think you had to tell anyone you work for from this point forward.
It might be worth giving the IS helpline a ring, it wouldn't be the first time an examiner had got it wrong.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
