debt collecting agency

I owe £7500 to Clydesdale bank for a credit card, when my husband lost his job i wrote to them and enclose an I & E with an offer of payment.

They wrote back agreeing to the payment which i have paid on time every month through standing order.

I got a telephone call today at work  from a DCA, it seems that the cb has sold my debt to them, i was rather rude to the gentleman on the phone as we are not allowed personal phone calls at work unless its an emergency.

Stupidly i gave him my mobile number and he is going to call me tonight at 7pm.

We have appointment at cab, but the earliest is July........... so should i speak to him??

Then the icing on the cake..... my work has overpaid me £120 per month for the last 5 months and want to take it back from my next wage.

arghhhhhhhhhh

    Hi hariboh

had a quick look at your other posts.

I think you need to talk to CCCS or NDL urgently as you need advice before July. Both have Scottish sections and both are open until late (8 or 9pm).

    Details here http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/loans/debt-help-plan#help

They may also be able to talk you through the options on the open decree that was awarded, if there are any.

No the bank never informed me, the first i knew was the telephone call at work today...i have just checked the payment from bank and it went ok, so no problems there.

We are going to the Cab in July and were hoping to get put on a payment plan but now because of the overpayment in wages for the last 5 months i dont think we will have enough left to offer our creditors.

Seem to get kicked every way i turn x

    hi
re your wage overpayment. I think that you can ask for the money to be taken back over a longer time than just one paypacket. Do you have a union etc at work?? even if you are not in one many will give advice over the phone if you ask.

    good luck

That is certainly reasonable - at least as long as you were overpaid. What has happened to our staff when things have gone wrong.

thank you very much for all your advice.... phone call has now been made to cccs, and we have an appointment at the end of June.

husband is going to phone the court regarding the open decree, and ask for a time to pay order tomorrow

Employer has phoned to say they will recover the overpayment over 6 months. x
