1 month since the lightbulb moment - Thanks!

Hi All
Well is has been a month now since I realised something had to change and just wanted to share something my husband said to me last night - which made me feel really proud...
He said 'your whole attitude to money has changed, and I am really impressed - whereas before you worried incessantly about money but didn't do anything about it now you see it as a challenge'
I felt really chuffed because although I haven't made a massive indent in the last month a few things have changed - by now I would always be over my OD limit (by about £20-200) but this month I am (just!) inside. Also I have transferred £2,500 from my credit card to an interest free one (the most I could), and finally I have not touched those credit cards once.
Small steps in the right direction! So thanks a million to you all! :T

That is brilliant! Well done!
Scholt, never underestimate the small steps they become giant strides forward! Besides I think you are playing down what you have achieved -
you have kept within your overdraft
you applied and were accepted for a 0% credit card
and you have not used your credit cards for purchases...
BRILLIANT RESULT!
Have you got yourself a budget? Posted a Statement of Affairs (SOA) on here? Achieving this and sticking to it will mean you will have extra ££ to make sure the overdraft and credit card debts will begin to shrink!
Keep on trucking...

Well done scholt on turning things around.
I think what you have done in a month is great and you should be rightly proud!
I know exactly what your hubby means about seeing it as a challenge....I think I do now as well even if it is a bit of a pain at times. Posting on here (challenges, spends etc) really helps too, do you think?
Keep up the great work and remember every penny helps!!
Have a great money saving week. xBank Balance: In the black for the moment.

Thanks both!
I haven't done an SOA yet - my circumstances are changing a bit (new job starting on Monday, had an offer accepted on our first house) but when everything settles down I fully intend to.
It actually feels good being so much more responsible with money though - refreshing!0 -
Cool, it's nice when someone close to you really encourages you
Well done!!

Hey, it's been a whole month for me too!
Congrats...
It really is a case of seeing things differently, and it seems to be working for both of us at the moment!
I haven't really made any inroads on debts at the moment as I'm still in the 'sorting things out' stage but the thing I'm most pleased about is that I've avoided racking up any more debt for a whole month now!
I couldn't tell you the last month when I didn't accrue any debt... probably about 10 years ago!
