Hi, just a thought but does your company offer child care vouchers - be good to find out as this can save you loads on the cost of child care by off setting on the tax??0

Will look into this, childcare is high as DS in creche full time until he starts school in Sept. Again, this is a cost that will drop dramatically in a few months - only family we have close by all work full time too so is not really an option for us to look at anything else

I think it works out a saving of £2K a year roughly - but also if he starts school in Sept he does get his nursery grant doesn't he?0

He would have done but we have missed the deadline as I have only just started back at work - he has been at home with me since Feb. The plan was for me to find a job in Sept when he started school therefore avoiding the childcare costs but I was offered an opportunity I couldn't turn down

not an authority on it but as far as I am aware it doesn't matter when you start in the year or any kind of deadline, all children of ages three and four are entitled to 12.5 hours a week 'free' nursery place in term time ( I have to pay a little top up). I would definately check that one out asap!0

I'll look into it - just that one of the creches I spoke to told me about the deadline, would be nice to reduce that bill slightly lol

I noticed you have a CCJ in your debts, this is a priority to pay.
You need to find any statements you can , these shold tell you the APR,probably monthly intrest rates but that can be worked out by the clever ones:A

I will clear the CCJ first then, just spoken to Next and apparently I owe them £184.20 so thats not as high as I first thought. Agreed to pay £40 at end of June and then £20 per month after that...

Council Tax is a priority debt as well. You need to start sorting this out as ultimately not paying /refusing to pay could lead to you going to prison. Unlikely perhaps, but it does need sorting.
