I want to buy MP3 Tracks. Wheres the best place to buy?

I want to start down loading music but not sure which is the best site / sites to use. I have looked at Play and Amazon. Can anyone tell me if the quality generally tends to be the same from all places. Do you buy your downloads from different places depening on the prices, or just stick with one? Will i have to downloads lots of different programmes?

I am obvioulsy a complete technophobe, so any help would be greatly apprecited. Is there any where that I can pay say £10 a month and be able to down load a set number of tracks or anything? I completly have no idea, but dont mind paying around this a month, will proably be more interested in singles and single tracks rather then whole albums, if thats any help.

Thanks for the reply, but they dont seem to have the sort of things I want e.g no Black Eyed Peas. My music tastes are very varied, but I will be looking for something that has singles from the charts and older stuff too, from rap - metal and a whole load of other things too.

    Maybe I ask too much?

Not really - if you can't find something in one place, chances are you'll find it in another.

    7digital, for example.

7 Digital seemed quite expensive at £1.39 for a single, compare to 50p on Play. Does anyone use play or amazon?

I got £3 worth of tracks from Amazon at the end of last year - for free - but I haven't used the service since.

I have bought from play and amazon in the past, its really easy.
Amazon are doing some free downloads at the moment. May not be to your taste, but you can have a go at downloading and delete them later.
As for the the quality look for the bit rate, it'll be listed next to the format, mp3 256 kps or 320 kps the higher the number the better.
With amazon and play once you buy the track you can do what you want with it, burn it to cd, use on a mp3 player, its yours basically. There's no restrictions.
A lot of the pay monthly sites I think you can only use the tracks while you're paying.

As a Linux user, I love Amazon - non DRM, so I'm not treated like a criminal for wanting to pay for things I download.

I haven't tried Play - anyone know if they use DRM?
