About 2 months ago I wrote a letter to Inlnd Revenue explaining Im a tradesman and have to supply hand tool, wash company clothes etc and this has been the case for the last 9 years. I called them up about a month ago explained I never had a reply and all the guy told me was the order must be being processed - no help at all.
I dont have an appointmnt but im going down there, they dont even have the decency to write a letter saying they will look into it, I hand delivered the letter so no excuses

Call again. Sometimes you get someone who knows what they are talking about and sometimes you don't.
My husband on the end of March spoken to them about change of his tax code and nothing happened. He called them yesterday and the appologised, as the girl he was talking to just put note on the system but didn't actually trigger the system to issue new tax code.
It has now been done.0 -

Your tax office, which might not be your local one depending on your employer, will deal with your claim when they have dealt with all the other post they received before yours was received. At this time of year with so many refund claims coming in it can take 6 to 8 weeks for a piece of post to be worked.
They do not send out letters telling taxpayers that they are dealing with their post because that wastes precious time that could be spent actioning the post. Call the contact centre again and ask if there has been any progress since your last call. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Well we have good news, apparently my case was processed today!
I was asking for a fixed rate expense to be applied to my tax code and to be back dated as far as possible, instead of sending me a cheque for the over paid tax for the last 6 years they are adjusting my tax code, I asked if I could be sent a cheque and they said its not possible - is that right?
Im not sure what it is at the moment but I take home £1966 a month and my new tax code is 723L so what willmy new take home pay be?
