Pension (non) transfer from Ireland to UK

I asked an IFA 10 months ago to arrange for a transfer of my occupational pension rights in Ireland to a PP in the UK. To date she has not been able to arrange it. It seems the Irish scheme will only pay out in euros and the UK providers will only accept sterling. Anyone know a way out of this?

cant the Irish administrator send the payment with the Sterling conversion done at their end (e.g. their bank converts it). It costs about £20 equivalent but it means the money hits the UK in sterling and the insurance companies have no problem with that.
