White Filling Question

My google skills fail me and dentist keeps saying wait a couple of weeks.
I had a white filling about a month ago, and said I might get sensitivity for a week or 2. It seems I am only sensitive to cold and even inhaling air. It's not a sharp pain, just a short dull ache for a split second and also a noise like a popping/crack - which concerns me the most. The dentist just keeps saying wait a couple more weeks/days. Can anyone explain this?

Unfortunately not, that was one of the first posts I found. I and the dentist (over the phone) could not explain the sound). Thanks though.0

I thought I'd replied to this last night - but apparently I hadn't!
There are many possibilities here - I think you need to make an appointment to get it looked at. People can here all sorts of funny noises through there teeth - the noise isn't particularly helpful. How to find a dentist.
1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.0 -
Never come across the noise before! One of the main issues with "white fillings" is their shrinkage. This can lead to sensitivity as the filling pulls away from the tooth and leaves a tiny gap. I suppose, with a leap of imagination, you could attribute the noise to some sort of pressure to do with shrinkage but it's most bizarre! Maybe you'll get written up in an international journal once you get to the bottom of it and we can all learn about you!0
