I bought this one from Argos - LiteOn LVW-5025GHC. Doesn't have freeview, but plays DivX and Xvid files as well as normal DVD's. So far, I've had no problems with it and I'm well impressed by the quality.
£199.99

Afraid you've hit a similar wall that I hit recently Clarabell. The Sony is really the only one with all three things you'e looking for. Amazon were doing it for £379 recently but are currently out of stock.
When I couldnt afford the Sony I went down the Harddisk/freeview route and planned to get a separate DVD recorder. However, I experienced many problems with my choice of hard drive (Fusion FVRT100) and have recently replaced this with a DVD recorder/Freeview option (Panasonic DMRes20). If you are thinking of making a similar compromise please read the reviews at the following site before making your choice;

We had the exact same problem - our VCR died, so we needed something to replace it, and initially settled on a DVD recorder with HDD (Eltax, e-buyer £180). Sent it back after a couple of days because it was noisy, complicated, and failed to work with something I wanted to record from a freeview channel.
Spent a while without - wishing that the Sony would come down in price - but we couldn't wait forever, so ended up buying a cheap pvr. (Fusion, Currys £90). Love it to pieces. We've had problems with it - it can't multitask well and tends to freeze, but the whole concept of it is brilliant. Look at the tv guide, press the red button...magic, it's recorded. Watch when you're ready, and delete.
We did think seriously about that panasonic mentioned above - people have given it really good reviews, but I just don't want the hassle of having to record things onto discs, unless it's something I need to record for someone else (every blue moon or so). When the technology comes down in price I'll buy something else (saw a tv advertised with built in hdd - that may be the future right there). But for now, I'm really impressed with the PVR.0 -
Hi
Have you considered just a pvr, with freeview, don't know if you know this but you don't really need a dvd recorder with this one.
One of the best pvrs around.
I have the topfield 5800 pvr, twin tuner, 160gb hd, freeview, watch 1 program, whilst recording another 2, usb connection, excellent quality and build.
Doesn't have a dvd recorder, but you can plug it into your pc, transfers tv shows/films etc and burn your files to dvd, (with a little conversion) so technically you don't really need a dvd recorder. Although I've never used this method as I've never needed to burn anything, I just leave it on the hd.
Absolutely brillant piece of kit, not cheap though, but highly recommended.

I have one of these and they are great. the freeview reception is great. Its brilliant for me because I dont have much space so its two boxes in one!!
I have a DVD ram disk that I can keep rewriting stuff to and I also have some rewritable disks so if I need to I can use them but so far I have recorded loads of stuff and deleted it off the Ram disk with no problems at all.
It is well worth looking into!
I got my from richer sounds for £169JeremyMarried 9th May 20090
