Iv been claiming job seekers allowence for 6 months. i work 10 hours a week so i only get a small amount of JSA. I few months ago a friend said they got a loan from the job centre for furniture.
I was wondering if anyone knows anything about these loans. i cant get any sense out of my local job centre, every time iv askd for details about the loan they give me the form to apply for one.
How much do i pay back per month? what happens when i sign off?

I think they are deffo interest free tho...
Well more info here http://www.workandpensions.gov.uk/lifeevent/benefits/crisis_loans.asp0 -
Its a Budgeting Loan if it is for Furniture, etc. A Crisis Loan when I worked for DWP would only be looked at if it was for a "crisis",furniture not falling into this catergory unfortunately. They are interest free too, and they won't lend more than £1000
Go onto the Jobcentre plus website and search for Budgeting Loan, download the form and see how you get on. You have to be in receipt of JSA Income based and have been getting it for 26+ weeks.
HTH and good luck!
