Have you looked into the possibility of a grant to get insulation?

Hi Peachyprice. No, we haven't had a look lately; we looked a while ago and it was only available if you were a single parent etc and on certain benefits - I've just applied for tax credits which we are apparently entitled to now that our situation has changed for the worse. The main issue is that we have solid stone walls (no cavity) so insulating them is a challenge and a half. We could reduce our costs through roof insulation and I am hoping to get a cheap, second hand woodburner to use in my office so I can reduce the time the heating is on in the day.

OR's are notorious for cutting back on allowances but not increasing allowances which are on the low side. Therefore it makes sense to increase the low ones(like the phone;)) and lowering the ones like oil so it all balances out.....no questions asked;)
