Small straw easter bonnet

Options
Hi,

My little one has to do an Easter bonnet for his homework. Went to to the local Hobbycraft just now but they have sold out all their Easter straw bonnet. Any ideas where else can I find one?

I have a bad feeling that I may have to resort to doing a "Blue Peter style" one using cardboard, etc if I cannot locate a straw bonnet.

Here's hoping there's one out there.
Thanks.

in my local Poundland this week they had loads and loads of craft bits for Easter. Perfect for a straw bonnet parade. We couldn't get straw hats last year so got yellow bowlers from a joke shop and decorated it with little eggs and bunnies and things. Very in keeping.

Failing that you can get one from abfab for £2.99 plus p&p

    Good luck!

I think it's 'The Works'. I got one for DD the other day from there. £1.25 and they have about 5 different styles.

My card lady on the market had some on Thursday(£1.25 I think) have you got a local market, card stall or maybe craft suppliers. My children are too old for this kind of thing but it took me back to my childhood when we had a new outfit for Easter Sunday complete with straw hat!

I got one last year from a charity shop for 25p then decorated it with lots of tissue paper flowers and put a birds nest on the top with little chicks and mini eggs and tiny twigs. My daughter one first prize and was over the moon!!!

We are having an easter bonnet party at our house on Easter Saturday, of course we will be having a good time and the drinks will be flowing and I will be putting food on. There are going to be adults and children. Everyone has to come with a 'hat' appropriately decorated.
I have made a couple of hats one was a cotton sun hat from last year I have sewn buttons on it and also glue guned yellow feathers from cheap feather duster and also some silk flowers, it looks great.
As long as you have got a glue gun you can work miracles with any old hat that you can pick up, even an alice band, I have made one for my young nephew (3 years old) using a cheap toy builders hat with chicks and a rubber duck stuck on!! Good luck anyway. ;)
