Quite a few opticians collect them, worth asking when you're next in town.

Kent County Council accepts them at their Household Waste Recycling Centres - they sort them, repair them, and then deliver them to Vision Aid overseas, where they will be taken for re-use in developing countries. I suspect most other city/county councils do the same...
