This is probably on another thread but 1st class stamps are going up from 30p to 32p[6%] and 2nd class up from 21p to 23p[10%] on april 3rd.
As well as saving on letters,if you do a lot of ebay parcels you can use the second/first class stamps to use as part postage,so buy enough..

1st and 2nd class stamps are valid only for the first level of 1st or 2nd class postage, i.e. 60g or less.
Royal Mail are not obligated to accept 1st or 2nd class stamps as part payment for postage above 60g and are within their rights to refuse to accept a package for delivery attempting to pay postage using such stamps or make a surcharge to the recipient on delivery.0 -
From the royal mail website -1st and 2nd class stamps can be used towards payment for postage to anywhere within the UK, provided the full cost of postage is paid.0

I even use them (as part payment) for international posts as well and never had any problems. I am going to stock up some more 2nd class ones as 2p on 21p is better value than 2p on 30p when I still got some 1st class stamps which I bought for 26p, 2nd class stamps which I bought for 19p and 20p, european stamps which I bought for 37p and 38p.
Royal Mail seems to have the habit of sending international surface mail by airmail for me, when I obviously did not put an airmail sticker on the envelope.
When my friends got their birthday cards six weeks before their birthdays and X'mas cards in the beginning of November each year, they were really amused by the situation but they now got used to it after I had told them how silly Royal Mail was. This has been happening every year for the last 24 years since 1981!0
