Your right Holes. iii is operated by Halifax Share Dealing, and I received my bog off letter this morning. I failed the "callcredit" credit check allegedly. More like Halifax ran away screaming from the thought!

Ah well. May try Hargreaves like you or the one Martin suggested in his article http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/savings/cheap-online-sharedealing someone somewhere should love me!

I have successfully opened an account with Hoodless Brennan PLC. Immediate acceptance and £8 per deal - not as cheap as the other ones, but its better than nothing. Its only for putting my quidco in every few months so at that cost I will have to be careful whom I invest with!

Not quite penny shares (I did that with Marconi years ago - afterall, Marconi may be in a spot of bother but aren't going anywhere!LOL), but I understand what you mean. I am intending to start small so my stock amount will be little, but I cannot save for the bigger pot. I just can't - I'm useless at saving for anything so I just need to get it out of sight and doing something.

I know that by buying with little funds it will eat into any potential profit, but at least my losses on the market would be less too!


Its either shares or half a gold sovereign every month.
