Endowment question

I split from partner after sixteen years,the house we lived in belonged to my partner but i was and still am named on the endowment policy & still receive letters from building society am i entitled to any money from the policy when it pays out????.

If you are a policy owner then you have entitlement to the proceeds. If its joint, then it will require both signatures to access the maturity.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). It would depend on how the house affairs were dealt with by your solicitors. When my ex partner moved out she was required to sign over all rights to the endowment. Her name remains on the documents but has no legal right to any proceeds from the policy. Ironically, should she die then the policy will still pay out to me. You would need to look at the paperwork to see what legal agreement has been settled on between you regarding this."Click the pennies. Collect the pounds."0
