Porting (nationwide)

Hi Everyone hope you guys may have some information.
We are currently with Nationwide and are looking at porting our mortgage across to our new property, our new property is 30,000 more than our one we have just sold but we do not need any extra capital from Nationwide.
I married my wife in 2007 but we never changed her name on the mortgage but did on our banking details. We have been told that this could affect my wifes credit rating and cause problems porting!
HAs anyone had any previous experience of this or any information on this?
Many thanks

1. Update her details on the mortgage.
2. I doubt it will affect the credit rating, because most lenders will ask for any previous names as part of the application process. The extra £30k of equity you're putting in will help you.0 -
Thanks for that!
It was by a sales guy from Nationwide. He also said it could take longer also due to this fact. He also said that it would be best not to change the name untill the process had been done!
Ill be honest he did not fill us with confidence we are seeing our IFA on Tuesday so with any luck will get it all sorted.0
