Was everyone lucky enough to get into their chosen school?

My 'C1' daughter got into her chosen grammar school!! We're all delighted - her sister is already there and loves it. :T

All of her friends got their 1st choice too with a lot of C1s & even C2s getting into grammar schools.

Hope everyone else was pleased with the decisions. :j

My friend has a child with Aspergers and is statemented so didn't do the 11+. He wanted his son to go to Ballynahinch High as they have a good special needs department but his primary school was very slow at sending the forms back to the board. As a result, Ballynahinch filled up their spaces and could not accept him. He did not want him to go to Knockbreda High or Newtownbreda. He has been accepted to Fort Hill in Lisburn. Not his first (or second!) choice and he is not very happy with the whole process.

Only to be replaced with entrance exams so what is the point of getting rid of the 11+ anyway?

This is the first sign that Sinn Fein are pushing towards a Marxist state here in N.Ireland. Dear help us if they got their hands on the finance job :(

There has to be a reason that SF is not successful electorally in the Republic.

Their financial ideas didn't wash with the Irish public in the last election. The Marxist ideas don't fit well with the Republic either, they are fighting a battle on both fronts (ROI+N.I). They'll probably compromise at some stage in the future, but expect them to go down fighting right to the bitter end.

    Sorry for the rant, continue...........

Yes, one delighted offspring in our household, thankfully! This process has felt like a lifetime - 7 months of not knowing...but dont get me going on the "other" issue! Overall, very happy, worked well for us and looking forward to September.
Feel free to thank me, it makes my toes tingle and my ears go warm :T
