Waterworld in Portrush is always good if the weather is bad. My kids could spend hours there messing around on the pirate ship and they also have a small bowling alley. Finish off with a pizza at 'Coast' next door. If you're around Coleraine you could try Charlys for something to eat. American diner where kids are well catered for - balloons, colouring sheets and cartoons on TV's - lots to look at to keep a 3yr old entertained. Hope you have a good holiday - Bushmills is lovely, my favourite place.

Hi I'm the OP and thank you everyone who contributed to this thread.....I just need to point out that I started this in May last year and we did go and had a fabulous time away.

Sadly can't go back this year as baby no 2 is due in June and don't think I can cope with packing up everything required for a baby just a few weeks old!!

We behaved like proper tourists and did all the "sights", Causeway which we travelled to on the steam train, Dunluce Castle, Rope Bridge, a couple of beach visits with picnics and of course a visit to Barrys in Portrush!!:)

Also had a great last day in Portstewart at the kids play park bit at the very end of the main street. Has all the usual things plus water fountains, paddling pool and all in sand. The weather was beautiful and DD could happily have spent all day long playing there.
