I was thinking about some of the TV stuff Martin has done about skin care products, and how hugely they vary in price for more or less the same stuff. I wondered if people had recommendations of products that do the job cheaply. For myself, I'm interested in a facial wash (ie to use with water in the shower) that moisturises and exfoliates, but I thought it would be good to widen it a bit and ask for recommendations for other skin care products too.
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

I started using Simple products last year and I must say they are every bit as moisturising and caring as the more expensive ones I used previously with the added bonus of being kinder as they are free from colours and scents etc.
Tesco is the cheapest place to buy these I find, prices are around £2 for the facial wash which lasts ages as I find I only need a tiny bit - it foams up a lot, and I like the scrub too. I keep the two tubes in my shower tray and alternate.
If you are going for cheap then Dove beauty soap is very good too. I used it last year while on holiday as we were travelling light and it's great for face/body, doesn't exfoliate though - I have a couple of bars left and will use them when the simple stuff runs out (I bought the moisturing face wash in October last year and it's still going - so economical) as I was surprised at how good it is for a cheap (well, under £1 bar of soap).
It's only a game

Big tub of Aqueous Cream from Superdrug costs a couple of quid and lasts for ages.Breast care nurse recommended this 18 months ago, and I haven't bought any other cleanser since. Its great in the shower and leaves your skin feeling good as well0

I love Lush Ultra Bland. You can use it for loads of things, although it is a cleanser. Lasts me ages too!Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

I am into the body shop range at the moment (vitamin e moisturiser and cleanser) and its mid-price range but if you join the body shop club you get discounts and email alerts to their special offers. Would recommend aqueous cream as a cleanser too - can't go wrong at that price!fran-o0

Aldi's day cream is fine as a moisturiser, less than £2.0

I second Lush products, they have great all-natural stuff like solid shampoos, fragrance, bath bombs, shaving lotion, face soaps...so much great stuff with cute names and delicious fragrance - no animal testing either!0

I love Lush as well (my dp especially likes the karma komba shampoo bars and the freeze shower gel from retro) but I have to say the 38p vitamin e moisturiser lotion I got from Boots which lives in my gym bag is doing a great job

I always think E45 is a great moisturiser - works just as well as any of the expensive ones!0

I use aqueous cream on my face, or E45 wash cream if it gets dry or spotty (slightly more expensive at around a fiver).
Superdrug Vitamin E day cream is a lovely moisturiser and has the advantage of having SPF15 in it, which a lot of other cheaper ones don't.
For a facial scrub I quite like the Boots cucumber one.0 -
I go to Home Bargains where you can get top names for a fraction of the rrp. Top tip the other week they had packs of Roc exfoliating pads that had cleanser on one side. £1,99 ab fab Since I used these my skin looks ultra smooth. I did a car boot the other week had no sleep hardly used those in the shower. A woman was chatting to me and thought I was about 27. I am in fact 43 . There are a few other similar types of product too for similar price.0
