alliance and leicester

I have just finished a discounted rate with my mortgage, and the alliance and leicester have just wrote to me saying that as im currently on the A&L standard variable rate, i will be able to save money if i phone them........ i recently phoned them and as they are not allowed to offer advise could only quote me loads of percentages, we are rather heavily in debt but our mortgage has always been paid on time, as my husband has just lost his job w are looking for something that will reduce our monthly dd so we can use it to pay of our creditors.....does anyone have any ideas?? x

Arrange to go in and meet someone in the branch.

Before you go in draw up a budget. So you know what you can afford.

See if the BS will allow you a holiday period for a couple of months or extend the mortgage term.

If you've major problems go along to the Citzens Advice Bureau for help.
