I get mixed reactions as I sometimes say I can't afford something BUT its because I WANT to pay the money off the mortgage instead. I havent told my family but have told a couple of friends and the people at work (my boss does the same thing but he can afford it and do it without a flinkch :mad:)
I scrimp and save to pay the mortgage off early because when the kids are grown up and left home I want to have the option as to whether I need to work full or part time. So working hard now so not to have to work so hard in the future
