Hi all

I recently failed a loan application and quickly checked my credit report to see what the matter was.
Everything was prefect - no missed payments - nothing!!

The only thing i picked up on was my girlfriend linked to the same address. We don't have any credit in joint names but a previous debt at her last address has followed her here and has left a mark on my report.
Im pretty sure this is whats causing the problem - but how do i remove it??

Yes she lives with me, but she has no credit and we have nothing at all in joint names.
Would it just be a simple case of removing it or wont i be able to for some reason?

Thanks in advance

As long as you no longer have any shared financial commitments, it should take nothing more that asking the CRA to disassociate you both.
Be wary of applying for anything together unless you want to be linked as that too creates an association.

I would also request an explanation of why you were refused the loan. They may not tell you, but if it was something else then it would be best that you find out about it now.

I take it you are listed on the electoral roll at your address? This can sometimes lower your credit score if you aren't.
