I guess it depends on whether you are making them because you WANT to or to save money. Even if you want to, would you prefer to make the invites instead?
As per the other save the date thread at the mo, people seem to be quite positive about vista and you appear to be able to get them for price of postage only if you wait for them to email offers to you (which seems to be everyday!). I am going for magnets!0 -

Sounds gorgeous.
Are you covering the entire butterfly in glitter,is that why its too heavy? There are loads of glitter effect products out there which may be give a similar effect without the weight.
Post some pictures/links of what you want to achieve and more info on the problem and we may be able to help you."Reaching out to touch the stars dont forget the flowers at your feet".0 -
I got our save the date cards (magnets) from ebay, they were really cheap and could pick from a number of designs and font styles etc.. they arrived the other day and i'm extremely happy with them! Now a married lady and loving it! Now..to clear that pesky mortgage! :beer:0

Not sure if you're colouring the actual butterfly or the middle bits once it's stuck on.
Some random ideas.....- How about glittering just the main body of the butterfly.
- Or don't glitter the underside
- Glitter pens might give the same effect, but might not be as heavy.
- Sequins maybe depending on the space you're working with.
