Hunting For A New Hifi, Also Any Voucher Codes?

Options
My 11 year old hifi has given up the ghost..I'm looking online for a new mini hifi.

I'd like a reasonably high quality one (say, in the region of £400), could anyone recommend a few hifi systems/speakers/websites?

I've spotted the Empire Direct codes on here (especially the 25% off one!), sadly it doesn't work for me. Voucher codes would be much appreciated too! ;)

Thanks in anticipation :D

    Hi

With that sort of budget, I would pop along to your local Richer Sounds store.

They should be able to fix you up with a "proper" hifi rather than a one box "mini system".

All I would say is please listen to a few set-ups before deciding- and take some of your own CDs with you that you are familiar with to see if they sound better than your old set up.

Your ears will thank you for it !!

Hope that helps. Let me know if you want to know more.

Another vote for Richer sounds here.

I buy 4-5* rated items for around £80-£100 per seperate.

A £120 amp + £120 CD player + £120 speakers and you'll blow any midi "hi fi" system out of the ground. You can get cheaper deals than that.
    Happy chappy

Thanks everyone. Richer Sounds is round the corner from me, just about (!) so I should really pop my head in.

I was wondering whether there was any "quality" mini systems worth looking at, as space is an issue.

The "TEAC Reference" minis (though they're quite old now) look promising?

I found one that fits the bill, with a USB connection too. Cheapest I can find it anywhere.

Might be useful to someone looking for a mini hifi.
