I buy 3.5kg chickens from a farmer friend, both legs will fill a dinner plate, 2 breasts will feed 4 from the roast, the rest for curries, sarnies etc, stock from the carcass, all for £9 a bird! You know they're good because they only take a short time to cook. The turkeys I get from him, 16lbs or so, take 2 1/4 hrs to cook, they are superb!!
Once you taste quality, you will not go back.0 -
As far as I am aware, M&S Oakham chickens that are usually in the £10 offer are NOT free range either, they just have slightly better space standards than the more intensively reared Tesco cheapies.0
