Hi,
I need a new digital camera, I have no idea what to buy, does anyone have any bargains that they can recommend, it does not need to be fancy.
Thanks in advance all!

Might be better posting this in the I wanna section of the forum.
If you're in Australia, a UK forum might be of minimum use......0 -

Canon Ixus
I have the Canon Digital IXUS 750...my son borrowed mine and sold his £800 Canon SLR camera to buy one. Difficult to find now but a canon ixus is the recommendation anyway as we have had 5 in a family of 5 and everybody loves them.0 -

I would recommend a camera called flip, that is als a camcordre (for 60+ minutes depending on model). They start at £63.99 from play.com, and require no sodtware. A direct USB stick comes out from the side of the camera and goes straight into a computer or laptop. Very easy to use, good picture quality and i couldnt recommend them more.£2 Savers club £0/£150

Are you looking for a compact point and shoot or a full on SLR?
My advice would be anything but Sony (everything seems to break outside of warranty)
I have a Panasonic Lumix Point and Shoot, It's been absolutely brilliant! bought it last year for around £200, no idea what it would be worth now.0 -
Try here in the first instance
http://www.steves-digicams.com/ it's an American site but does the most comprehensive reviews I've seen.
I usually just use the 'best cameras' section and read 'steves conclusions' in the first instance.
Get an idea of what she wants and what would suit her - then use http://www.google.co.uk/prdhp?hl=en&tab=wf using the model number (sometimes the US model numbers are slightly different to UK ones).

For the rich, there is a new Polaroid digi camera out, as well as the usual digi camera things, big lcd, memory card for the images, press the big PRINT button on the back & it prints out a 2" by 3" high quality pic that is sticky backed for fixing to postcards etc. Each printout costs abt 35p and the camera is £200-ish from Firebox. Almost no settings to fiddle with and still handbag sized. I'd get one as a prezzy for an elderly rel but the purchase price is a little off putting.
