I have had a lemon in the salad drawer of my fridge since December 2008 and its still in perfect condition (bought from M&S). Just wanted to share.

    Have you cut it open - I suspect it's not fit on the inside ;) The wax coating may have preserved the skin, but not necessarily the contents. I'll add this to the Use By Dates thread.

    I'm going to ask the question that I'm sure everyone else is thinking:

    Why on earth have you kept that one lemon for so long? I hope you've at least given it a name, after all it's like a member of the family now! :D

    I regularly use lemons that have been in the fridge for ...... errmmm....... weeks and possibly months :eek: :o

    Thanks for your replies.
    If I had three or four , I could do something with them. However I have just cut it in half in response to a reply and it looks perfect still. I will now have to use it. Yes it has become part of the family.
