Depends how seriously you play, but Sports Direct have some reasonable ones.
My OH plays badminton at county level and pays around £100 a time for racquets.
If you buy them from a shop then at least you can get a feel for them before you buy. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -

Ah, I was just about to post a thread asking the very same question. I'm totally clueless about badminton so was hoping you could help me? My boyfriend plays once or twice a week but he's snapped a few strings on his racket, I was hoping to get him a decent one for his birthday. Does anyone have any recommendations? Which make should I be looking for? What kind of price range am I looking at for a decent racket?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!0 -
£40 - £50 will get you a half decent racket for a club player.
Like someone else mentioned, £100 + can be easily spent on rackets for players of a good standard, i.e league 1/county etc.
Carlton and Yonex are trusted favourites but more recently, Ashaway, Forza and Monsoon are coming to the fore.
Do you have any idea what type of raqcket your boyfriend likes? Some are lighter than others, they have different strength shafts etc.
I personally use Ashaway and would certaiinly recommend them. Its a good time to buy too, we're in between seasons and they could well be shifting stock.
Good luck.0
