Hello All,
1st post in a long time so sorry if this is in the wrong place... but as it's kind of Tax related i thought i would get more replies here
I'm a 25 year old Finance Officer at a local authority HQ working full time. I'm AAT qualified (2007) and am stumbling my way... slowly through ACCA. I have lost interest in my study at the moment so am thinking about earning some extra money doing books for people. I only have theory in terms of experience...
Any advice on what i should do? I approached my boss (The company accountant) if he would check over my work for me outside of work time but he wasn't too keen on the idea.
I wouldn't feel too confident going lone ranger straight from the off, so would appreciate some comments on what i could/should do and if anyone has had any similar experiences.
Many Thanks

I would suggest you approach small local accountancy firms - at certain times of year they are incredibly busy, and I know accountants that use people like you to help out when they have too much work on -they will also as a matter of course check your work and make sure it is ok, so there would be no worries on that score.
It won't be as well paid as going it alone, but the experience you will gain will be invaluable.0
