Finally managed to put my dvds on ebay this week only to realise I'd be better off outting them on the sales forum at work. Also put a lovely pair of blue shoes on and some books. My total this week:
    Won £1
    Sold one DVD -£3
    Sold shoes - £15
Managed to pay off a bill early saving interest - £45.58
    Total £64.58

So far my total is £82,58 so I added 42p from my personal spending to make it £83.00. Only £67 to go to reach my target.

Sold a dvd on amazon hours after I listed it. Will update sig when I get it sent. Also found a home for my JLewis vouchers for face value, that'll be another £20/30, depending how many I decide to sell.

  • hi guys :j i can't get over my running total this month, it's huge after having such a bad run. But i have to admit, alot of it is money "saved" by purchasing items that I would have had to buy anyway, either cheaper, or with a cheaper alternative.

For example todays update is a new transponder key fob for my 53 plate toyota yaris! Long story short, the plastic smashed to bits on Key 1, so i started using Key 2, which last weekend i smashed to bits. The buttons still work and the key turns but they're not too pretty to look at and are held together with mountains of gaffa tape! lol So i rang my dealership and asked for two new keys, expecting something in the region of £50 a key. NOPE!!!! £360!!!!!!! it's £180 per key!!!!!!! now i can't carry on using broken keys, for fear of the buttons packin in all together which would mean replacing my car's ECU (computer) at £1500 + labour + VAT.

SOOOOO i ordered a blank uncut, buttonless key from ebay! lol Took the buttons out of my mashed key, added a fresh battery, put them in the new key, got the blade cut ... and it worked!!! WOOP WOOP

total spend...... (drum roll please) .......... £10!!!!!

THATS A £170 SAVING PER KEY!!!

So i'm adding £170 today minus a £12 refund for amazon :( but thats still £158 to add, and i've already ordered another blank key from the same buyer :j

  • Pinkneonmartini - thats a fantastic idea! Brilliant saving too :D
Jesa I'd probably take the bike offer too, or maybe try and haggle them up to £250 - that would be a great boost to your savings! How long has it been advertised for?

Afternoon everyone :D I’ve finally got some bits to add, after the slowest start to the month ever!

MS payment £3.60, Lightspeed £2, Cashbackkings £2.58, Topcashback £1. Scratchies £14 is now in my bank account (won £5 TWICE in the last week - I couldn‘t believe it! I only get 10p‘s usually, never had a fiver before in 6 months of doing them!). Interest on current account a huge 10p. Did 4 hours overtime this morning for £22.92 (got offered the whole day but couldn’t do it as got an essay to write…REALLY need to go and crack on with that now, otherwise I’ve wasted the afternoon and might as well have done the extra overtime!) Oooooh and I won £5 in the GfK TV survey for May…am amazed, as I only started doing it on the 25th May. It was Purpleroses on here I think who posted about it, so a big thanks hun!

Going very slowly ATM…I need to think of some new money making ideas! Those Halifax current accounts that pay £5 - do they do a credit check? I bet they do. I want to open one, but don’t really want any more searches on my credit report. Also want to try matched betting, but am scared. I’d probably end up doing it wrong and losing the lot! Anyone got any other good money making ideas that we haven’t mentioned for a while?

Attempting to pay off our debts! Balances Jan 2018 -
    Family member £3,700 - Virgin CC £1,000 - MBNA £1,700 - Barclaycard £2,500 (was £2,700) - Halifax CC £1,280

Well I managed to save £28.41 today on a car service and MOT (this is the discount given to me by the garage:j).

As I have to pay for business things out of my personal account and claim them back later - I have just been offered 3 half page ads in the posh wedding magazine that I advertised in recently for £87 ea plus VAT - now their quarter page ads are usually £250 plus VAT so I hate to think what a half page ad costs. Needless to say I shall take them up on their kind offer:D So that's extra savings for me.
