Had a VERY good day today.

Went to collect my bridesmaid dress  and took along a 3 tier pink cake to show the lady exactly what they are (thanks to my sister verbally advertising), she has now placed an A4 leaflet in her shop window for me (on the high street in a rather posh town). She was so impressed she took it around the rest of the shops/stalls in the indoor mall and managed to get me 2 orders there and then. Another lady also has put up a leaflet in the entrance, should be 50p/week to advertise, but loved it so much that she is displaying it free of charge and has logged that I've paid up til end Dec 09!!!
I called at a friends snack van on the way home, who showed the other 3 girls the cake ... and again have 2 orders (for end of July). :D

Beginning to think I should just walk around the town centres carrying a cake, with leaflets in hand :rotfl::rotfl:

Can anyone tell me the best size cellophane to get to use to package the nappycakes please?

I buy 60cm x 20m rolls. I've used it on 2 baby cakes now with no problem - although its main use is for wrapping the children's party gifts I do. I guess it depends how you wrap your cake. Maybe the 80cm would be recommended by the experienced cake makers on here I'm not sure. Sorry I couldn't be of more help!

love2shopfor bargains, Dirtyknees and Emma83 all your cakes were gorgeous.
Riggerz well done on organising your own fairs, especially with 3 boys under 5. I've got 1 girl and 2 boys under 5 - and my eldest is 9 - I am often told that the busiest people are usually the biggest achievers. Not yet true in my case but bang on the nail with you I think! How'd it go? I take it you're busy preparing for the next?
Rusty loved your cakes for the christening. I am inspired! One of my boys turns 4 in two weeks so am going to try out a Thomas & Friends themed one for him. If it turns out ok - I may offer something like it for sale in the future. Thanks again for the inspiration.
Giggle I see you also did a fair recently. Where was it? Where and when is your next? A friend of mine used to organise them monthly in town but stopped as she just didn't have the time anymore. It was such a shame I loved going to see and buy other peoples creations and had plucked up the courage to have a table too!
clarelou2 your cakes were also gorgeous. I thought your tags were a perfect finishing touch.

Apologies if I missed anyone I had a lot to read and remember to reply to. As such I am going to leave my news til tomorrow!!!

Hi ladies, long time no see! Fab cakes everyone, you all just get better and better!
Been so busy and haven't had any friends have babies lately, so nappy cakes have taken a bit of a back seat... until now.
My neighbour has had her baby girl so yesterday I sat at a craft group I go to and made up her nappy cake, and the lady who helps run it ordered one for her step-daughter - my first order, yippee! She thinks the other lady who helps run it too (but wasn't there yesterday) might order one for her son and daughter-in-law, fingers crossed!
I'm organising a baby & todler nearly new sale next month and will be having a stall to sell all our pre-loved baby stuff, and planning on bringing a couple along too.

Hi, I've just popped into my local 'Savers' store and they were selling the brush/comb sets (in a tube) for 89p. Available in pink, blue and white. :j
