Quick question I have had some interest from a local shop about stocking some of my nappy cakes/gifts. The thing is I am not sure what kind of deal it would be, how does it work? Do you sell them at a wholesale price to the shop and they sell them on or does the shop stock it and then they take a cut say 10% of the sale price? Any advice would be very much appreciated!
    Thanks in advance

  • Hi moneywouldbegood - welcome to the nappy cake forum. It would probably help you to have a look at the original thread (this is the second nappy cake thread, as the other one grew too big and difficult to manage): http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=565879&highlight=nappy+cake

The way I would explain a nappy cake is that it's a creative way of presenting (in the shape of a wedding cake) a baby gift using disposable nappies as the filling and the rest of the items such as baby blankets, clothes etc... to go around it as the icing. You can be as creative as you like and make them as big or small as you like. It's great fun, have a go, they're not as scary as they look.

As if i don't have enough to do before tomorrows craft fair i have been trying to make a pamer towel cake but i just can't fold and roll it right at all. I want it to be like a nappy cake with lots of goodies inside but then i can't wrap the towel around them like i do with a blanket around the nappies. It just doesn't look right as all the products are different shapes and sizes. I am really pulling out my hair with it.

what about putting nappies in the centre and then taking them out and filling it? it worked for me with a wedding cake cos as I took each nappy or two out filled it with an item that fits that hole and went on till i was happy

  • Hello there,
I have been doing these for a short while now having had my second son last November and lots of friends have also had seconds now. Was SOOOO excited to find a whole forum on nappy cakes! I had only seen a couple of 'naked' cakes when I started but am now doing all different types.
Will have to read back and see what you all get up to!
  • Can I ask the two n irish users if the were able to find whole packs of pink only socks anywhere? tia
