Quite random, but i want to buy my little boy some peoples for his birthday. When me and my partner were younger, we had little people, a garage and a house. I think generally most people back then had the same kind of thing (no doubt all fisher price little people stuff!!).
So anyway, i was looking at fisher prices new little people stuff. Its ok, but i dont like the fat little people, the house only comes in pink, and of all the garages available, i dont really like any of them. Not enough space to park cars etc. But i LOVE all the different things you can get (animals, tractors oohhh!! lol)
So then i looked at ELC happyland stuff- great houses, great people (my son already has a few- i really like them and we have a couple of cars too), but NO GARAGE! except a stupid thing anyway.

So, which would you say is best to buy? All i really want are lots of people, cars, tractors etc, a train track and train, a house or 2 and a garage. and are the elc happyland shops and stuff really small???
should i buy all the elc stuff and a different garage??
ahhh confusion!!
opinions please!

**just a little edit- i will probably get him a farm as well for xmas, and like the fisher price farm but not the elc one- too small and bity bobby if that makes sense!**

My son has alot of the happyland itmes. The best is deffintley the train set. It is chunky enough for him to put together himself and he absolutley loves the train. We have brought quite a few extra pieces tracks from ebay and NCT nearly new sales.

We decided on the happyland items as the little people ones all looked a bit girly. The only real complaint I have with Happyland is the doors are forever comming off, one of my sons first words was broke. They are easy to put back on but my son can not do it yet so I have to keep fixing them for him.

The elc fire station is great, but the police station is a bit boring.

The shops etc are not that small. My son also has the whizz around garage which he uses with his happyland set and he really likes it.

ELC will also send free spares for the ELC sets when requsted (doors, laders etc obviuosly not the figures)

I would reccomend you just buy the bits from each one you like the best but stick to one type of road and train as everything else would work together.

I was reading somewhere the other day (might have been practical parenting) that fisher price are brinning out a little people play and go farm for the 50th annivesary.
