Just set up a DMP with CCCS and was dreading the call to First Direct to inform them of the DMP and that their loan was included in the plan.
As it turns out, I spoke to a lovely lady in their credit department who was very understanding, dealt with my request without any fuss and even notified me that I had a couple of hundred pounds in my current account that I could withdraw before they froze my account.
Somehow, I don't think LTSB will react in the same way!

They were good with me too. First ones to accept the DMP. Immediately dropped interest rate to 1% above base rate instead of 19% APR - so at the moment I can cope with under a tenner's interest a month.
Everyone else stopped interest and charges (but took about 4 months to do it) but everyone else has marked my credit file - FD have kept my credit file looking fairly ok - just a shame about the defaults from mint and the arrangements to pay :rotfl:Newlywed at the point I joined the forum... now newly separated0 -
they were very good to us - sold on to DCA and have been no problem for last 3 years and no interest charged. Co-op and capital one are a real pain though, no experience of LTSB im afraid.0
