Health and safety issue at work

  • 2 weeks with no ventilation. Thats terrible.
Is it a council run site or a private company.
    Im thinking private company ?

When the ventilation went down on poolside at our place we closed the pool for three days until a snapped fan belt was replaced that drove the ventilation system.

The public went mad, they couldnt grasp how dangerous it was to open the pool with no ventilation.

It was my call to close the pool. I was a Duty Manager at the time so I got all the agro. What made it worse was it was a Friday afternoon and the fan belt couldnt be replaced till the Monday so I had a weekend of grief.

    few things to consider:-

    1) Your on pool, your responsible for each and every bather in that pool. No ventilation = sauna like conditions leading to tiredness within minutes.
You not completely on the ball and nod off for a second, bather down. Manslaughter charge coming your way.
I would seriously not go on pool duty in these conditions

    2) Id either refuse to go on pool & if they try and make you id leave immidiatly. You will have your NPLQ qualification so should be able to find work. If your anywhrere near Manchester PM me.

  • It's near leytonstone, London. I'm not sure what the situation is with posting exact details up, but if you are in the area and could complain, pm me. I'm probably going to leave anyway, but it's not really on.

Pool boy, you are round my patch.

I would appreciate it if you let me know which pool it is so I dont inadvertently end up going there. Will keep your confidence, of course.
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast
