Not sure if this is the right place but

What the heck is matched betting?

Can someone explain it to me in simple terms please?

Thank you

There is a matched betting board that will give you some examples.

In short, when you open an account with a bookmaker, they will sometimes give you a free £10 or whatever. If you were to open 2 accounts with diferent bookmakers and bet that in a game of football there would be goals scored with bookmaker1, while with bookmaker2 you bet that there would be no goals scored - the difference in odds would lose you a small amount of the free bookmakers money but you could keep the rest and this would be your profit.

    Bookmaker1 - win
    Bookmaker2 - lose

You lose the money you placed with bookmaker2 but the money you win from bookmaker1 covers your money and you also get some of the free money.

That's as simple as i can make it i'm afraid.
