Reaching a 7-month high and returning to the familiar territory of $1.60ish is significant. A downward fluctuation of less than one cent is insignificant. Once their attention gets focussed on exchange rates, the morons in the press have a habit of reporting these daily fluctuations as if they're news.0 -

A lot of people are employed by international companies and while paid in sterling under devisions earning in sterling may well find knock on impact from dollar doldrums. Lets not forget, that while UK had its own problems and I do not hold the opinion ''its all America's fault'' I do not deny in the least that the American economy problems have heavily impacted everywhere.0 -
