Hi ,
there is a thread about waterbutts somewhere on this site already.
I bought a slimline waterbutt from argos ,it has a capacity of 100L and comes with a stand and connectors for your drainpipe.
It was only £24 in total or therabouts , and the cheapest all inclusive I found

Wilkinsons have them cheap. Sometimes you can get them on offer via water company, if they arent on offer its cheaper to go to wilkinsons0

bought one from asda direct today, £21.95 (inc post) 200l capacity.0

i got mine from wilko's a 210l butt for £19.99 and a stand for £9.99. it doesn't come with a diverter kit tho' which i bought separately from B&Q for about £3 odd. it filled up the other week over two days when we had all that rain. so pleased i bought it in time with the dry hot days we're getting. i've been watering my potted plants daily for awhile now!
yesterday was in aldi and noticed they had the same wilko style ones for same price, if you can't get to wilko's more easily that is..0 -
how about using an old dustbin.........
if you still have it?
we've only just 8 weeks ago....had wheelie bins introduced!0 -
dustbins are a sore point in this house lol, my husband left them at the old house when we moved they were practically brand new and there was three of them, he kept saying he was going to pick them up along with my miniture fruit trees and never did. (must admit though, me and the kids were on holiday when he did all the moving so cant really complain)now proud mum to 3 handsome boys :j latest one born 10/10/11:j0

have you tried your local council? Ours sells them cheap, along with compost bins. (via mail order from a supplier...you don't just go into the town hall & pick one up
)

Our local water company gave them away for free not that long ago..I got 2 extra for our allotment. So worth giving them a ring.
Also have a look at your local household recycling centre or ask on Freecycle.0 -
essex water company have some 190l ones buy 1 get 1 half price for £47.95 for 1 which i think is a bit expensive, you get the stand etc with it but you can get it cheaper all together elsewhere, just off to check the council althoug i tried that the other week and found it hard to navigate round thier website.
am i just being too stingy lolnow proud mum to 3 handsome boys :j latest one born 10/10/11:j0
