Sorry mis sold endowment help again

Thanks very much defender, am sending the following letter tomorrow, will see what response I get. The only thing I am not sure about is if it is a good idea to ask for a copy of our endowment file? My letter is just a copy of the Which letter generator and that did, but will asking for a copy of the file make them suspect that we don't have much paperwork ourselves!


On speaking to your helpline today, you will be aware that we are unhappy with the way we were sold our mortgage endowment policy.

An adviser acting on behalf of Commercial Union sold us an endowment policy that was not suitable for the following reasons.

Other options for repaying the mortgage were not fully discussed with us.

The adviser did not explain there was a risk the endowment would not meet the target amount.

The adviser did not establish our attitude to risk

The adviser said the policy would pay off the mortgage

The adviser said there would be a lump sum in addition at the end of the term.

I am also requesting that you send me a copy of my endowment file so that I can see all the documentation you have relating to my case.

Asking for the file will have no effect on your case, but they will not relaese it until after the investigation is complete. Dunston can provide chapter and verse on why not if you ask him.

Where were team based?

Our advisor was based in an estate agents in Norwich but the letter we have from them is an address in Wickford, Essex with the registered head office in Bolton Street London.

Well letter has gone in the post, so will have to wait and see, not sure how long it takes to get some sort of reply. But won't hold my breath!
