You won't be able to store many photos with 16mb

    Just returned the DS9810 (£49.99) to play.com
If you read the user manual supplied in the box,
    not 16mb, 8mb internal memory (page 1)
not 4x digital zoom, 2x digital zoom (page 1)
and not mmc compatable, only sd (page 4)

Strange bit is the online pdf user manual for this camera backs up whats on the play.com website, only the real (hard copy) user manual confirms the above.

Other things I didn't like about it was not normal (aa) batteries but a flat rectangular one, photo delay, photo quality wasn't as good as my big old sony dsc-p51, the colours seemed a bit wishy-washy (non-technical description).
Always look on the bright side of life!

Does anyone know roughly how many photos you can save on the 16Mb internal memory or whether you need a 512 SD card.

    thank you

At the highest resolution, you will be able to take 3 photos using the 16mb internal memory. So best get a decent sized SD card.

The lens on the front of the camera states 3x Optical zoom as does the box and the manual (Page 1). The sticker on the box quotes 12x zoom (3x Optical x 4x Digital)

It takes better pics than the Fuji I have been using so I'm not complaining.

Ok put off by the risen price - but what I don't get is why when I do a search on play.com for either camera they don't come up - I was trying to get the quidco 2%. What is up with that?

It should be listed under Recently Viewed Items, on the lefthand side of the page halfway down...
