Lost pension

Sorry if ,as a newbie,I have posted on the wrong board. My brother-in-law died 4 years ago quite suddenly. He had lost touch with all the family including his own sons. For many years he was a lone parent, but did a good number of years working on the buses in Reading as a driver, conductor and in the office.
We are pretty sure that there is pension fund around which would apply to him and on behalf of his two sons I would like to track it down.
We have scant knowlage of his history as he moved about a bit and had two or maybe three divorces. To make matters worse the bus company changed hands a few times and we have no ideas of dates worked
Please give any advice on where to start.
