Do you know when they release a time of when events happen for this? Thanks to both of you.

All I know is that the finale event (in Belfast) is something like the 11th August or there abouts and theres an expected 400,000 people to show up so make sure your prepared to be pushed around a wee bit lol

I went the last time they were here, I can't remember what year but it was in the 90s. I remember it was absolutely packed with people and there were long queues to get onto the ships that allowed visitors, but I do remember thoroughly enjoying it.

Me too Big Cammy. It was the summer of 1991 - my eldest was a baby so visiting shipw wasn't really an option with a buggy but we enjoyed the day out all the same.

Even sadder thing to remember, one of the petrol garage chains, possibly Shell, did a promotion and gave away glasses with the Tall Ships logo, they were perfect for whisky too.

I do remember them too. I know someone who gave relatives a set of those for Christmas that year!

They were here in 1992 as well. They sailed past Larne that year.
